Message from Eva Franchi
President and Founder of the Sergio Franchi Music Foundation.

My dear friends and supporters,

....It breaks my heart to tell you that 2009 concert in September is not being held....My Darling Mama who turns 95 August 7th, needs me now more than ever. As the old song says "My heart belongs to Daddy"... well I need to change those lyrics ...because this year, my heart must belong to my Mama...

....Have a wonderful summer and I hope that the memories of the past years will bring you back to our 2010 concert.
Same time and same place, the first Saturday after Labor Day as always. When I promise I will be back, stronger than ever with the greatest young talents, who because of you and your great generosity and support are on their way to becoming today's' top young artist.

....My Heartfelt gratitude to all of you, and I know I speak not only for myself, "But for that someone, somewhere out there, in whose memory we have gathered here for the past 15 years".

....Please stay in touch, and if you're ever in our neighborhood, stop in for a glass of vino, to share with Mama and I (which lately is the only thing she seems to enjoy)!

......God bless you, we will hopefully see you all next year, till then .....

Gratefully and with much love ,

.........XOX

September 15, 2008

My Dear Friends, Supporters and Fellow NIAF Members,

Many times giving one’s heart and soul is just not enough...For “Life” and “good old mother nature” has it’s own plans and signs.

I am so sad to report that the 2008 Memorial Concert in honor of my darling husband Sergio was not cancelled, just wiped out.

Funnily, “a woman” did it.

Good old “Hurricane Hanna”.

I was always afraid of that...but as a woman, I was not prepared for it...What woman ever is?

So, with my wings clipped, I won’t give up! Sergio’s favorite saying was “sempre avante”, which means “always forward”. Keep that in mind...I will keep you posted of my future plans.

My Forever heartfelt gratitude,

Mrs. Eva Franchi

P.S. The great news is, the 2008 Sergio Franchi Scholarship and Grant Winners, 18 to be exact, did receive their awards in the total amount of $35,000.
